Virgil David Cargill, 57, of 830 Emmett, died Thursday afternoon in Burlington hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 9, 1909 at Carman, Ill., the son of Alvy and Nancy Bell Dowell Cargill, May 3, 1941, he married Vina Wagner at Kahoka, Mo. Mr. Cargill was of the Methodist faith. He was a machinist at the J.I. Case Co. plant here, and a member of Union Local 807 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving: The wife: three sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Lehman and Mrs. Grace Lehman. both of Burlington, and Mrs. Zelda Taylor, West Burlington; two brothers, John and Robert, both of Burlington; and a number of nieces and nephews. Two brothers and a sister are dead. Services: Saturday, 2 p.m. Prugh's chapel. Rev. Horace Ireland, Aspen Grove.
