Viola I. "Vi" Ernst, 100, of Burlington, died at 12:49 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Great River Klein Center.
Born on January 16, 1918 in rural Burlington, she was the daughter of William and Helen (Meade) Spencer. On October 20, 1940 she married Claude Ernst at Grace United Methodist Church in Burlington. He preceded her in death on January 14, 2011.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Burlington, King's Daughters, Ambassadors with Burlington Chamber of Commerce, Burlington Golf Club, and attended many Lion's Club conventions with Claude.
Survivors include daughter, Colleen Kay Ernst and son in law Bill Radl of Iowa City, IA; grandchildren Max Ernst Radl of Iowa City, IA, Sophie Ernst Radl of New Orleans, LA, Tama Clapper of Greeley, CO and Jessica Camacho of Cedar Rapids, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son, Philip Blair Ernst.
The funeral service for Mrs. Ernst will be 1:30 p.m., Friday, February 16th at Lunning Chapel. Rev. Deb Kinney will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A memorial has been established for First Presbyterian Church.
