Verl Allen Fletcher, 45, of 1421 Agency, died Tuesday morning at university hospitals, Iowa City. He was born June 15, 1930, in Ainsworth, the son of Harlan and Lucy Hanft Fletcher. On Sept. 13, 1953, he married Frances Blessing in Burlington. He was a millwright at J I Case Co., a member of Eagles Aerie No. 150, and a Lutheran. Survivors: The wife; three daughters, Patricia, Tina and Connie, and on son, Steven, all at home; his mother, Iowa 99 north of Burlington; two sisters, Linda Fletcher, Rt. 2, and Mrs. Dorothy Bean, Mediapolis. Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Friday, Lunning Chapel; the Rev. G.A. Saathoff, Aspen Grove cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
