Thomas Arthur Bresch, 82, of Burlington, died at 6:45 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Great River Medical Center, Klein Center. Born September 10, 1924, he was the son of Alex A. and Theresia Thomas Bresch. He married Ruth M. Mueller.
He was a truck driver for Burlington-Chicago Cortege for 21 years and Sturms Truck Line until retirement. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and Teamster Union. He served on the Des Moines County Conservation Board. He was a member of SS John and Paul Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Thomas Bresch Jr. of San Diego and Terry Woodyard of Glendive, Montana; six daughters, Theresia McKelvey of Lompoc, California, Patricia Hingst and Carol Gerst, both of Burlington, Joyce Ahlschlager of Rockford, Minn., Judith Hutson of Winona, Minn., and Elizabeth Craig of West Brook, Maine; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, Clement Bresch of Burlington; one sister, Helen Morgan of Burlington; nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
