Mr. Rudolph R. Rust, 91, of Burlington died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Bickford Cottage.
Born January 30, 1924 in Burlington, he was the son of Raymond Roscoe and Olga Anna (Hoelzen) Rust.
Mr. Rust was an Army Air corps veteran of World War II. He worked at J.I. Case Co. Manufacturing for over 40 years.
Mr. Rust was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed research, playing on computers, and National Geographic Magazine. He was a "tinkerer" and loved to travel the United States and overseas.
Survivors include one sister, Edna (Richard) Gerdner of Burlington; one brother, Virgil K. Rust also of Burlington and five nieces, Linda Gerdner of Burlington, Sharon (Danny) Anderson of Danville, Karen (David) Strawhacker of West Burlington, Susan Nielsen of New London and Peggy Rust of West Burlington.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Vera Berry; and one niece, Sheila Baumert.
The memorial funeral service for Mr. Rust will be 10 a.m. Monday, October 19th, at Lunning Chapel with Pastor Gary Karas officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Burlington Area Veterans Honor Guard. Inurnment will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Memorials have been established for Oak Street Baptist Church and National Geographic Society.
Cremation has been entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
