Roy E. (Byrnsie) Byrne, 84, of 2414 S. Main died in Klein Memorial Hospital at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 29.He was born Sept. 23, 1899 in Burlington, to William P. and Elizabeth O'Laughlin Byrne. He married Betty Bryant Feb. 5, 1931; she died in 1964 and Mr. Byrne married Marceline Ita in Burlington in March of 1968. He operated the former Park Luncheonette for five years and was owner of Byrnsie's Cigar Store in downtown Burlington for 24 years, retiring in 1962. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and was a charter member of Iowa Christmas Tree Growers Association. and Elks Lodge. Surviving: The wife; son Edward, Wichita, Kan.; daughter Patricia Short, Washington, Ind.; and six grandchildren. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church, the Rev. Carlos Leveling; Aspen Grove cemetery. Rosary; Prugh's Chapel at 7 p.m. Friday. Memorials have been established for the American Cancer Society and St. Paul Church
