Funeral services for Roy D. Gallagher, 78, of 2304 Gnahn, who died Thursday, Jan. 6, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh's chapel. Rev. Mr. Ray Osterhaus will officiate; burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. The son of Daniel and Ida Neff Gallagher, he was born at Burlington, June 23, 1898. He married Hattie D. Marquardt at Burlington, Sept,.24, 1919. She died in 1973. He was a retired bus driver for the city of Burlington, was a member of the National Assn. of Rainbow Division Veterans, First Baptist church, Disabled American Veterans, and was World War I veteran. Surviving: Three daughters,Mrs. Jack (Dorothy) Quelle, Rogers, Ark., Mrs. John (Marjorie) Hamilton, Lakeland, Fla., and Mrs. Walter (Jeanne) Engstrom, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest (Bess) Wiesner, Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. John (Molly) Leffler, Burlington; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with First Baptist church.
