Mr. Ralph Frederick Holmes, 77, a former resident of Burlington, died at 9:43 a.m. Tuesday in Los Angeles, Calif. He had been a resident there for 36 years. Mr. Holmes, a chiropractor still active in practice at the time of his death, died unexpectedly, apparently of a heart attack. He was a native of Burlington, born Aug. 13, 1887, to George and Anna Aschoff Holmes. Mr. Holmes was married Oct. 31, 1930 to Louise B. Bishbaugh at Los Angeles. She survives. He was a member of Utopia Lodge 537 AF&AM, Al Malaikah Shrine Temple, Los Angeles; Elks Lodge 99 of Los Angels, and the United Church of Christ. Surviving besides his wife are two cousins, Robert Schlampp of Burlington and Clifford Aschoff of California. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Prugh's chapel, the Rev. Donald J. klohr officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. The body will arrive in Burlington at 5:50 a.m. Saturday.
