Obituary
Paul T. Berges, 73, of 505 Hedge Ave., died in Burlington hospital Monday at 11:20 am.
Mr. Berges had been a representative of Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co., for the past 30 years. He was a member of First United Church of Christ and Des Moines Lodge No. 1, AF&AM, and of the American Legion.
Mr. Berges was born Nov. 17, 1894, at Powhattan, Ohio, the son of the Rev. JC & Wilhelmena Guth Berges. He was a graduate of Burlington High School.
Mr. Berges served in the US Navy in WWI.
He was married to Laura A. Janssen in Burlington on June 4, 1929.
Surviving: The wife; daughter Mrs. Marilyn Meloan, Manhattan, Kan.; three grandchildren; brothers Arthur C. Berges, Birmingham, Mich., Oscar and Adolph Berges, both of Burlington; sisters Elizabeth Berges and Mrs. Emma Morlock, both of Burlington.
Services: First United Church of Christ Wednesday, 2 pm Rev. Donald V. Klohr, Aspen Grove Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church from Prugh’s chapel at 10 am Wednesday.
A memorial has been established for Mr. Berges at the First United Church of Christ.
