Paul C. jones, 69, of Burlington, died at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 1996, at Keokuk Convalesant Center. Born Dec. 6, 1926 in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Paul and Ina Caldwell Jones. He was previously married to Ellen Ruff Gibson. Mr. jones was employed as a sales engineer for Foxboro of indianapolis, Ind., and IBM in Denver, Colo. He served in the US navy during World War II. He attended New Trier High School in Winnetka, Ill. and graduated in 1949 from the University of Illinois with a bachelor's degree in engineering and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, an avid road racer at Midwest Tracks, a production Corvette national points leader from 1973 to 1974, a member of Sports Car Club of America, raced a Lotus Super 7 from 1863 to 1964, did showroom stock racing in an OPEL Car, was an airplane pilot, loved horses, blues and jazz and enjoyed playing his trumpet. Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey P. Jones of San Diego, Calif.,and Gregory A. Jones of Redwood City, Calif., and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call after 9 a.m. today and the family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Lunning Chapel. Funeral services for Mr. Jones will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel with the Rev. David Rogula officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
