Oscar J. (Torch) Yanson, 822 N. Third St., died in Burlington hospital at 7:45 p.m. Sunday. He was 69. He was a native of La Harpe, Ill., and was born Sept. 3, 1899, the son of August and Olga Thompson Yanson. He was veteran of World War I. Mr. Yanson was a retired bartender. He was married to Violet Chick Sept. 20, 1940, at Kahoka, mo. Mr. Yanson was a member of the Christian church and was a charter member of the La Harpe American Legion post. Surviving: The wife; stepson Raymond Chick of Burlington; sister Mrs. Olga Long of South Gate, Calif., and three grandchildren. Services: Wednesday at two at the Prugh Chapel, the Rev. Robert Owens, Aspen Grove cemetery.
