Obituary

Orville Cloud, 62, of 1804 Summer,died at 2:35 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis hosptial. He had been in failing health since last July.
He was born Jan. 28, 1896 at West Point, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Cloud, and was married to Emma Hildebrand in Burlington on June 26, 1923.
Cloud was a veteran of World War I. He served overseas with the Army and saw action in the battles of the Marne, St. Mihiel, and the Meuse-Argonne.
He had worked for nearly 20 years at Burlington hospital, retiring recently because of ill health.
Cloud was a member of Bethany Lutheran church, the American Legion, and the Moose.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Betty; a brother, Eugene, of Burlington; sister, Mrs. Elsie Odiorne, Abington, Ill.; and a number of nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers and three sisters are dead.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bethany Lutheran church. The body will be taken from Prugh's chapel to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. Burial, with military graveside rites, will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
