Funeral services for Nathan A. Keys, 85, former proprietor of the odl Burlington Buggy company and a Civil war veteran, who died at his home, 319 Garfield avenue yesterday afternoon will be held at the residence at 2:30 Monday afternoon. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery. Mr. Keys death resulted from a cerebral hemorrhage, which he suffered Wednesday night. He was in a coma from the time he was stricken until his death. He was born in Highland county, O., Nov. 19, 1847, one of 13 children of Mr and Mrs. William H. Keys. He was the last survivor of the Hill's Highland battery of the 24th Ohio Volunteer artillery, having served two years and a half in the Civil war. Before coming to Burlington he lived in Villisca, Red Oak and Council Bluffs. He was proprietor of the Burlington Buggy company on Third street for a number of years but discontinued his business and retired in 1919. Mr. Keys was married to Miss Agnes Blanchard in 1895. His wife preceded him in death. He was a member of First Presbyterian church, the Masonic lodge and the Grand Army of the Republic. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Preston McBean of this city; two grandchildren, Nancy and Preston Keys McBean; two sisters in Ohio and a brother in Hynes, Calif. Mr. Keys body is at Prugh's chapel.
