Obituary

Milton F. Astfalk, 78, of 1317 Brick St., died at 3;40 p.m. Sunday, May 8, 1988, at the St. Francis Continuation Care Center. Born Nov. 10, 1909, at Burlington, he was the son of Gus Andrew and Rosemarie Heins Astfalk. He worked for Dane Morgan Architect and Midland Architect, retiring in 1975. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, the Eagles Lodge, the Senior Golfers Flint Hills Golf Course, the Senior Citizens Bowling Leage in 1972, and the Burlington Hall of Fame in 1974. He was an Army veteranof World War II. Surviving are one brother, Edwin Astfalk, Burlington; three sisters, Delphina Willeford, Rock Island, Ill., Marie White, Mable, Minn., and Peggy Graham, Burlington; one stepsister, Bessie Beardsley, Carman, Ill.; and one stepbrother, Louis Julius, East Moline, Ill. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lunning Chapel. The service for Mr. Astfalk will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Lunning Chapel with the Rev. Duane Cavins officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
