Obituary

Ludwig Broeker, a retired Burlington railroad employee, died yesterday at the home of his son, William Broeker, in Peoria, Ill. He was for thirty-five years keeper of the storehouse of the West Burlington shops, and about a year and a half ago he was placed on the pension list. Since then, he has been living with his son in Peoria.
Mr. Broeker was a member of the Oak Street Baptist church during his long residence in Burlington and was well known among employees at the shops where he was familiarly known as “Louie”. He is survived by three sons, Fred and Charles Broeker of Burlington and William Broeker of Peoria. His wife died ten years ago this month, and a daughter Mrs. Annie Lemme, died two years later. A son also preceded him in death, dying in childhood.
The body will be brought to Burlington for burial. Private services will be held from the home of his son, Fred Broeker, 1320 Griswold St, Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock, and funeral services which friends may attend, will be held from the Oak Street Baptist Church as 2:30.
