Leonard Eckburg, 75, of 2129 S. 13th St., died at 6:54 a.m. Friday, July 17, 1992, at Burlington Medical Center. Born Oct. 19, 1916 in Burlington, he was the son of Carl Leonard and Carrie Anna Scherer Eckburg. He married Bonnie L. Garrett Dec.16, 1941, in Burlington. She died Sept. 2, 1991.He had worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and was manager of the Smith Alsop Paint Store. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Survivors include three sons, Larry Eckburg and Ronald Eckburg, both of Burlington, and Kevin eckburg of Sperry; one sister, Margaret Kennedy of Burlington; seven grandchildren; an aunt, nephew,niece and cousin. The body will be cremated. A private graveside committal service for Mr. Eckburg will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Aspen Grove cemetery with Allen Pygott officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Prugh Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
