Kenneth Harold “Pete” Brissey, 86, of Burlington, died at 6:34 pm Saturday, March 16, 2002, at Great River Medical Center in West Burlington.
Born June 24, 1918, in Burlington, he was the son of Albine and Isa Lea Gray Brissey. On May 7, 1959, he married Alma Kuntz in Davenport.
Mr. Brissey was a machinist for Burlington Northern Santa Fe for 37 years.
He was of the Protestant faith. He was a member of the Eagles Club of Burlington and the Railroad Veterans Club. He enjoyed walking at the mall, spending time with old friends, gardening, hunting, and woodworking. He especially enjoyed working with his machine lathe and Band saw. He was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Kevin Brissey of Exton, Pa.; and two sisters, Dorothy Bloom of Wichita, Kan., and Lillian Storks of Albuquerque, NM.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers.
Visitation will begin after 8 am Tuesday at Prugh’s Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday.
The funeral for Mr. Brissey will be at 11 am Thursday at Prugh’s Chapel, with the Rev. Frank Beatty officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
