Kenneth B. Mattson, 38, of 309 Brentwood, West Burlington, died suddenly early Saturday morning. According to West Burlington police, Mattson had risen early to take his two boys fishing. They found him on the floor of the kitchen. Police were called at 6:35 a.m. They administered oxygen and rushed him to Burlington hospital by ambulance where he was pronounced dead. Mattson was born in Burlington, March 2, 1923, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elder Mattson. He married Catherine Burroughs in Kansas City, Kan., March 10, 1947. He was a member of the West Burlington Methodist Church, a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion and the D.A.V. Surviving are his wife, two sons, Dannie and Kenny Allan, both at home; a sister, Mrs. Ralph Dehner of Burlington; five brothers, Oscar, Rudy and Edgar all of Burlington, Richard of Redondo Beach, Calif., and Leonard of Mojave, Calif. Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Giles funeral home. The Rev. James Poulson will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
