John William Breuer, 81, 2225 Cherry, died Friday at 12:20 am following an extended illness. He was a life resident of Des Moines County and a retired farmer.
The son of Charles and Mary Vollmer Breuer, he was born Jan. 20m, 1908, he married Clara Schmeiser in Des Moines County. The couple observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1958.
He was a member of Our Father’s Lutheran Church and the Sperry IOOF for 54 years.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Riffel, Mediapolis; Mrs. Leota Riffel, 1308 Corse; and Rosella Breuer, at home; a brother, Theodore, Denver, Colo.; one sister, Katherine Breuer, Burlington; five grandchildren. Five sisters and four brothers are dead.
Services will be Monday at 2 pm at Elliott-Lunning Chapel with Rev. GA Saathoff officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
