John Luther Ellis, 58, of 614 Division St., Burlington, died at 1:07 a.m. Wednesday, nov.22, 1995, at Burlington Medical Center after an extended illness. Born March 2, 1937, in Chicago, Ill., he was the son of Willard and Dorothy Watson Ellis. Mr. Ellis attended schools in the Chicago area and was a high school graduate. he had lived in the Burlington area for the past 14 years and worked for a number of years as a maintenance worker and groundskeeper for Park Madison Apartments. He was a member of the Whole Truth Gospel Church of Holiness. Survivors include his parents of Chicago and an aunt, Lilian Bledsoe of Burlington. He was preceded in death by one son. Friends may call after 8 a.m. Sunday at Hass Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral for Mr. Ellis will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Hass Funeral Home with the Rev. Melvin T. Isom. pastor of Whole Truth Gospel Church of Holiness, officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
