Obituary
John E. Erickson, native of Sweden and resident of this city for the last 59 years, died yesterday morning at 11:30 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.P. Freedman, 425 May avenue. Mr. Erickson was born in Sweden June 4, 1839, coming to America and direct to Burlington in 1869, a year after his marriage to Hannah Kastor Nilson, who survives him. jHe was occupied as a tailor here for many years with the R.M. Rabb company and later the Strause Brothers company. He was alter employed by the Burlington railroad, but has been retired for some time. Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. J.P. Freedman of Burlington; on brother, A.P. Erickson of Holdrege, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Anna Utz of Burlington; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the home of his daughter, Mrs. J.P. Freedman, 425 May avenue, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Aspen Grove.
