Obituary
James R. Hull, 71, of Burlington, died at 1:40 p.m. Friday, May 7, 1999, at Fort Madison Community Hospital. Born June 17, 1927, in Stillwell, Ill., he was the son of Fred and Nellie D. Pilling Hull. Mr. Hull was a 1945 graduate of Quincy (Ill.) High School. He worked as draftsman/associate draftsman for 34 years for the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant. He retired in1986. He was of the Protestant faith. He was a Korean War Army veteran, serving as Corporal from 1950 to 1952. He was an avid golfer and bowler. Survivors include one sister, Darlene Whitley of Quincy; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and three brothers. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday in Lunning Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p..m. until the time of service Tuesday. The funeral for Mr. Hull will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Lunning Chapel, with the Rev. David Rogula officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Des Moines County Diabetes Association.
