Obituary
James Patrick Flynn, 1804 Mt. Pleasant street, passed away in his residence Saturday evening at 7:20 o'clock after a lingering illness. He was born Oct. 23, 1862, in Burlington and has resided in this city his entire lifetime. Sept. 26, 1888, he was united in marriage to Miss Emma Jaeger in this city. To this union four children were born, three of whom survive, Mrs. Carl E. Johnson, Mrs. Laura Moehn, Mrs. Carl Siefken, all of Burlington. His wife and one daughter, Mrs. W.C. Rickmann, also one brother, George P. Flynn, preceded him in death. He is survived by seven grandchildren. For 30 years he was a switchman for the Rock Island railway here, later being employed at the West Burlington shops. He was a member of the A.O.U.W. lodge, the Hawkeye Natives society., Veteran's association and Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. The body was removed to the residence, from Prugh's chapel, Sunday afternoon where it will remain until Tuesday morning when it will be returned to Prugh's chapel where services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. A.J. Koelling will officiate. Interment will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
