Harold Edward Gittings, 45, New London, died at Graham hospital, Keokuk, at 12:55 a.m. Thursday, July 1. He was born Dec. 8, 1925, in Henderson county, Ill., the son of Kinzie W. and Marion White Gittings. He married Mary Ridge July 24, 1959, at Keithsburg, ill. A foreman for Churchill Truck Lines he was a World War II veteran serving in the Navy. Surviving: Wife; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kinzie Gittings, Keokuk, two sons, Kinzie, New London, and Harold, Missouri; step-son, William Martin, Burlington; daughter, Barbara Gittings, Missouri; four sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Moeller, Burlington, Mrs. Caroline Heilenthal, Hamilton, Ill., Mrs. Mary Howell, Keokuk, and Mrs. Sarah STevens, Alexandra, Mo.; two brothers, Kinzie, Torrence, Calif., and Marion, Lake Wood, N.J. and four step-grand-children. Funeral: Saturday 10:30 a.m.Elliott-lunning Chapel, Burlington, Rev. Donald klohr; Aspen Grove cemetery, Burlington.
