George Kirk Coulter, 71, of 604 North street, died Friday at 8:30 p.m. in a nursing home at 809 N. Fourth street. He had been in failing health for the past 3 years. He was born in Burlington in 1877, the son of John B. and Rebecca Kirk Coulter and was a graduate of Grinnell college. He was a life member of First Presbyterian church, a member of the Elks lodge and a veteran of the Spanish American war. Surviving ar 2 sons, Capt. John B. Coulter with the army in Japan and David l. Coulter of Burlington; a brother, Dr. William E. Coulter of Seneca, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. A brother, Raymond is dead. Service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Prugh's chapel. Rev. Paul Calhoun will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
