Obituary
Frederick Jordan passed away shortly before midnight Sunday at his home on Osborn and Zaiser streets, "Father" Jordan, as he was known among his friends, was born July 31, 1827, at Wendisch Brome, Prussia. He came to this country in 1867 locating in Burlington. He had been a faithful and valued employe at the Funk & Hertzler plant for twenty-seven years. Some time ago he was compelled by the infirmities of age, to resign his position. He was an earnest and consistent member of the German Baptist church, a man who enjoyed and fully merited the respect and confidence of all who knew him. He was a widower, his good wife having preceded him some nine years ago. Deceased is survived by five children as follows: Mrs. Dora Ricke, of this city; Mrs. Rieke Ficken, of Muscatine; Mrs. Minnie Zenk and Henry Jordan, of this city and Fred Jordan, of Omaha. Arrangements for the funeral will be announced later.
