Obituary
Fred W. Joy, IOP area, died in Burlington hospital at 5:15 p.m. Saturday after an extended illness. He was born Nov. 13, 1898, at Ravenwood, Mo., the son of Harvey H. and Martha Miller Joy. On Jan. 27, 1941, he married Ruth Ryden in Macon, Mo. A Burington resident for 15 years, he was employed in the payroll and timekeeping department of the IOP. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of First Methodist church. Surviving are his wife, several nieces and nephews. His parents, three brothers and one sister died earlier. Services will be in Prugh's chapel Monday at 2 p.m. Dr. George G. Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
