Obituary
Cyrus K. Rust, a native of Henderson county, Ill., but a resident of Burlington most of his life,died at 6 o'clock last night at the home of his son, Louis F. Rust, 1201 North Central avenue, after a lingering illness that had kept him in bed for the last month. Mr. Rust was born in Oquawka, Ill., November 19, 1870, the son of Jacob L. and Racheal Rust. He spent most of his child hood days in Oquawka and Gladstone, but when a young man he came to Burlington. He was engaged in the carpenter trade and up until a few years ago he worked at the West Burlington shops. Mr. Rust was an active member of St. Paul's M.E. church. He is survived by three sons, Louis, Raymond and Cecil, all of Burlington; one daughter, Ruth, at home; two sisters, Mrs. John Allen of Gladstone, Ill., and Mrs.William Heck of Minneapolis,Minn.; and five grandchildren, Leroy Rust, Ilene Rust Jack Rust, Rudolph Rust and Jean Rust. The body was taken to the Burnett Wallen mortuary where friends may call. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
