Charles John Elmborg, 90, of 104 N. Garfield avenue, died at Mercy hospital at 11:20 a.m. Monday after a brief illness. He was born in Sweden, Dec. 25, 1856, and came to this country and Burlington 65 years ago. He married Clara S. Johnson in Burlington in 1888. He was employed for many years as a woodworker at the Nairn-Gillis Company, retiring 18 years ago. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran church. Surviving are his widow; 4 daughters, Mrs. Esther Schulze, Edith Elmborg, and Mrs. Ebba Hultgren, all of Burlington; and Ruth Elmborg of Washington D.C.; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild, a sister, Mrs. Mary Widlund, of Mesa, Ariz., and several nieces and nephews. Two sons. a daughter , and 2 sisters are dead. The body is at Prugh's Chapel.
