Billy E. Fidler, 54, Burlington, died at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, May 11, in the Veterans Hospital, Des Moines. He was born Nov. 12, 1925, at Red Oak to Arch and Clela McGimsey Fidler. He married Helen Krekel Nov. 29, 1947. Mr. Fidler was a retired Sheetmetal worker in Burlington. He was a member of the VFW and served in the US Navy in World War II. Surviving: Son mark, Dallas, Texas, two daughters, Jane Fidler, Des Moines, and Julie Dixon, Prairie City, brother Bernard Fidler, Denver, Colo., two sisters, Mrs. Pat Reed, Council Bluffs, and Gladys Hunter, Burlington; and a grandson. Funeral 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Prugh's Chapel, Fr. Donald Redmond; Aspen Grove cemetery. An American Cancer Society memorial has been established.
