Obituary
Albert Jones, resident of Burlington for many years, died at Mercy Hospital Friday morning at 4:05 o'clock, after a brief illness. He was a licensed river pilot and worked for many years for Mississippi Sand and Gravel company. He later was pilot of the towboat Mary K., based here, and worked as a trip pilot on the upper Mississippi, retiring about 10 years ago. He was born at Madison, Wis., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jones, and was married to Mary Blaufus at Keokuk, Iowa in 1915. She died in 1932. One son, Robert A. Jones of Burlington survives. Services will be held in Prugh's chapel, Monday at 2 p.m. Father J.M. Pound will officiate. Burial will be in Aspen Grove cemetery.
